BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Moravian College Assistant Athletic Director Sara Steinman has been selected to serve as a facilitator at the upcoming NCAA Leadership Forum in Phoenix, Arizona from April 7-10.
Steinman is one of 20 facilitators that will work with 300 student-athletes, coaches and administrators in attendance at the Leadership Forum. Steinman spent five days in late February at the NCAA national office in Indianapolis, Indiana going through an Effective Facilitation Workshop and Leadership Forum training.
"It was an intense but incredible weekend learning the curriculum and developing my personal skills to serve as a facilitator," commented Steinman. "I had the opportunity to connect with an amazing group of people from all across the country. We got to know each other very well and helped one another grow as people and professionals in five short days. I am thankful to have been selected and so honored to be a part of the 2016 Leadership Forum facilitator team. I cannot wait until the actual program in April! I am confident it will be a rewarding experience and I look forward to inspiring the tremendous group of student-athletes that will be in attendance."
The NCAA Student-Athlete Leadership Forum engages a diverse and dynamic representation of student-athletes, coaches, faculty and administrators. Student-athletes selected to attend Leadership Forum return to campus with invaluable leadership skills, the experience of exploring the relationship between personal values, core beliefs and behavioral styles, and a thorough understanding of the NCAA as a whole, the different divisional perspectives and the valuable role of Student-Athlete Advisory Committees (SAAC).
The Leadership Forum, created in 1997, has been a life-changing experience for nearly 5,000 student-athletes, many who have grown personally and professionally, gained a new network of peers and friends, as well as felt the rewards and importance of community service.
