Moravian Hosts 100 Children in Girls' Sports Clinic

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Moravian College hosted 100 girls from kindergarten through 8th grade Saturday morning for a Girls' Sports Clinic in Timothy Breidegam Fieldhouse as Moravian closed out its Women in Athletics Week celebration.

The clinic had the girls participating in stations in soccer, volleyball, track & field, field hockey, basketball, tennis and cheerleading. The girls rotated around to the different stations and worked with Moravian student-athletes from each of the sports.

"The Girls' Sports Clinic was an incredible culminating event to Women in Athletics Week," commented Moravian Assistant Athletic Director Sara Steinman, who organized the week and the clinic. "Participants had the opportunity to play various sports that they otherwise may not be exposed to and they were loving it. My mission when organizing this clinic was to encourage and empower young girls to stay active through sport and we did just that and more. Our student-athletes did a phenomenal job. I was thoroughly impressed by their efforts and they deserve the credit for making the clinic so special for participants. I cannot thank them enough for their energy, enthusiasm, and dedication. They represented Moravian's women's sports programs very well today."
