Cross Country Teams Set to Run at Lehigh University Invitational Friday Evening

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College men's and women's cross country teams are set to take to the course for the first time this season when the squads run at the annual Lehigh University Invitational on the Goodman Campus on Friday, September 2.

Head Coach Jesse Baumann enters his sixth season leading the program with a mix of returning runners and newcomers on each roster.

The women's team has been selected second in the 2016 Landmark Conference Preseason Poll, and the Greyhounds will be anchored by seniors Meg Brockett and Sarah Hughes, who were both NCAA Division III Mideast All-Region runners last fall. Brockett also earned Landmark All-Conference First Team honors with a fifth place finish while Hughes was on the Second Team after placing eighth in the conference meet. The duo is joined by senior Larissa Strycharz, juniors Meredith Colton, Kirsten Lebo and Jillian Troisi and sophomores Kelly Gonoude and Alyssa Limbaugh as returning runners.

The men's squad was picked to finish fourth in the Landmark Preseason Poll after finishing the race in seventh as a team a year ago. The Hounds have six returning runners in senior Andrew Mitchell, junior Mike Kopach and sophomores Devon Harris, Aaron Hofmann, Peter Milewski and Benjamin Smith.

Coach Baumann has added 17 new runners to the program, giving each program depth as the season progresses.
