Moravian Hosting Three Events Around January 28 Basketball Doubleheader

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Moravian College is hosting three events around its Landmark Conference basketball doubleheader versus Susquehanna University in Johnston Hall on Saturday, January 28 beginning at 2:00 p.m.

The first event of the day is the Greyhound Cheerleader for a Day program that Moravian has run the past few years. The participants will spend two hours prior to tip-off of the women's game learning cheers with the Greyhounds squad, and they will have lunch together before the contest. The group will join the Moravian cheerleaders at both end of the courts during the women's game.

The women's basketball squad is hosting its annual Take a Kid to the Game day Saturday. All children 13 and under receive free admission with the purchase of an adult ticket. There will also be giveaways, on-court promotions and an autograph session after the game. Moravian enters the game at 13-5 overall this season and 5-2 in Landmark Conference action.

The afternoon wraps up with the men's contest as both coaching staffs will be participating in the American Cancer Society and National Association of Basketball Coaches – Coaches vs. Cancer Suits & Sneakers campaign with both benches donning sneakers for the game. Moravian will be donating the proceeds of tickets sales from both games of the doubleheader to Throat Cancer Foundation (http://www.throatcancerfoundation.org/get_involved) in support of Susquehanna Head Coach Frank Marcinek.

Moravian enters the men's contest slated for a 4:00 p.m. tip-off with a 12-6 record and a 5-2 mark in Landmark Conference action while the River Hawks are ranked No. 11 in the nation.
