Greyhound Basketball Teams Both Ranked 8th in NCAA DIII Mid-Atlantic Regional Rankings

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. --- The Moravian College men's and women's basketball teams are each ranked eighth in the Mid-Atlantic Region in the third and final NCAA Division III Regional Rankings announced Wednesday.

The men's squad is listed in the regional rankings for the first time this season, and the program has received its first regional ranking since the 2007-08 season when the Greyhounds were eighth in the first regional poll and seventh in the second. Moravian heads into the postseason with an 18-7 record this winter, just the seventh time in the 80 years of the program that the Greyhounds have registered 18 wins in a season. The Blue and Grey are the second seed in the Landmark Conference Tournament and host No. 17 Susquehanna University in a Landmark Conference Semifinal on Wednesday, February 22 in Johnston Hall at 7:00 p.m. The game is just the Greyhounds third appearance in the Landmark Tournament and the first home postseason game since 2007-08.

The women's team remained eighth in the Mid-Atlantic Region for the second straight week after being seventh in the initial poll this month. The Greyhounds head to No. 19 The University of Scranton for a Landmark Conference Semifinal game on Wednesday, February 22 as the third seed after finishing the regular season at 19-6. All six of the squad's losses are to other regionally ranked teams including Landmark Conference foes Scranton and Catholic University of America as well as Albright College, DeSales University and FDU-Florham.
