Moravian to Participate in 6th Annual NCAA Division III Week April 3-9

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Moravian College is joining with schools across the country in celebration of NCAA Division III Week, which officially begins on Monday, April 3 and runs through Sunday, April 9.

This sixth annual event will celebrate student-athletes' academic achievements and athletic accomplishments, in addition to their campus leadership and their involvement in community service.

Approximately 24 percent of Moravian's student body competes on one of Moravian's 21 intercollegiate athletic teams. During the past fall semester, 192 of the Greyhounds' sophomore, juniors and seniors achieved a 3.0 GPA for the semester.

Moravian will be kicking off its participation in Division III Week a day early by hosting the Lehigh County and Bethlehem City chapters of Special Olympics for a basketball tournament in Timothy Breidegam Fieldhouse on Sunday, April 2 at 12:00 p.m.

Moravian will also have a student-athlete from each team answer the question as to why the chose to come to Moravian and Division III. Their answers will be posted to the Greyhounds' Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/MoravianCollegeAthletics), Twitter (https://twitter.com/MCGreyhounds) and Instagram (http://instagram.com/moravianathletics) accounts as well as digital signage across campus throughout the week.

The Greyhounds are also joining with other schools in the Landmark Conference throughout the week for Landmark Gear Day. All student-athletes are being asked to wear their school colors and post pictures to social media with the hashtags #LCgearday and #d3week on Wednesday, April 5.

For the first time this year, Moravian will be hosting events for its student-athletes all week with a Media Monday, Trivia Tuesday, Hound'Em Wednesday and Thursday with games between the teams and Dodgeball Friday to conclude the event.
