BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Jarrod Pence '03, a standout on the football gridiron, is being inducted into the Moravian College Athletic Hall of Fame on November 3, 2017 in Johnston Hall beginning at 6:00 p.m.

Pence, who graduated in 2003, was a standout on the football gridiron for four seasons. Pence played in 40 of a possible 41 games during his career as a defensive back and made 200 tackles with 117 solo stops to go along with four and a half tackles for loss, 55 passes defended, 13 interceptions with one returned for a touchdown, four forced fumble and two fumble recoveries, both returned for touchdowns. Pence led all of NCAA Division III with 31 passes defended in 2001, a total that included five interceptions.

Pence became Moravian's first-ever American Football Coaches Association Division III All-American in 2002, and he would go on to play in the Aztec Bowl in 2002 with a Division III All-Star Team playing the Mexican All-Star Team. Pence was a two-time Middle Atlantic All-Conference First Team selection in 2001 and 2002, and he was also named to the ECAC All-Southeast Region First Team in 2002 and the Football Gazette All-South Region Second Team as a senior.

Pence is being joined by golfer Brian Bergstol '07; softball player Rosanna Azzolino '00; women's tennis and women's basketball player Lynne Grzywacz Webb '99; football player and former head football coach Larry Rosati '42 and former Head Men's and Women's Cross Country Coach Mark Will-Weber in the class of 2017 that will be inducted into the Moravian College Athletic Hall of Fame. The 2001 women's cross country team that was coached by Will-Weber will also be inducted that night.
