Rosanna Azzolino '00 - New Moravian Hall of Fame Inductee

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Rosanna "Zan" Azzolino '00, a standout on the softball field, is being inducted into the Moravian College Athletic Hall of Fame on November 3, 2017 in Johnston Hall beginning at 6:00 p.m.

Azzolino, who graduated in 2000, was a four-year letterwinner on the softball squad. She was a four-year starter at shortstop for the Greyhounds, playing on the program's first three NCAA Division III Tournament qualifying teams beginning in 1998. Azzolino finished her career with a .349 average in 162 games as she collected 158 career hits in 452 at-bats to go along with 96 runs, 13 doubles, 11 triples, 58 RBIs, a .427 slugging percentage, 24 walks and a .364 on-base percentage. In the field, Azzolino had 320 assists and 236 putouts, and she was the school record holder in games played and assists at the end of her career to go with a record of 141 consecutive at-bats without a strikeout, a mark that still stands today.

Azzolino was a three-time member of the Commonwealth Conference All-Star First Team, and she was also selected to the Middle Atlantic Conference Academic Honor Roll three times. Azzolino made the NCAA Division III East Regional All-Tournament Team in 1999 and 2000.

Azzoino is being joined by golfer Brian Bergstol '07; football standout Jarrod Pence '03; women's tennis and women's basketball player Lynne Grzywacz Webb '99; football player and former head football coach Larry Rosati '42 and former Head Men's and Women's Cross Country Coach Mark Will-Weber in the class of 2017 that will be inducted into the Moravian College Athletic Hall of Fame. The 2001 women's cross country team that was coached by Will-Weber will also be inducted that night.
