BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Moravian College athletics welcomed back former women's Head Coach Chris Wytock Jackson to a luncheon on November 10 as she was honored for her service to the department and to her players.

"The luncheon was a tremendous opportunity to visit with the pioneers of women athletics here at Moravian," stated Director of Athletics and Recreation and Head Women's Basketball Coach Mary Beth Spirk." Coach Jackson made quite an impact on the women of that era on the court and field of play."

Jackson was at Moravian from 1963 to 1969 as she coached all four of the Greyhounds' female sports: tennis, lacrosse, field hockey, and basketball. She was greeted by many of her former players during the luncheon, reminiscing of times on the playing fields, stories of their coach and players that were unable to attend.

Members of the current softball and women's basketball teams were in attendance to mingle with the former student-athletes about their time as Greyhound athletes.

"It was evident that she molded and guided young women to achieve success after their playing days. The stories about their past on and off the court were entertaining and insightful," added Spirk. "I was honored to share in the history of women athletics and am grateful that Coach Jackson paved the way for not only female coaches like myself, but also for female athletes today."
