BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College Department of Athletics and Recreation had 172 of its student-athletes receive Dean's List honors from the College for achieving a 3.50 or higher grade-point average during the 2017 Fall semester.

"We are extremely proud of our student athlete honorees on the Dean's List for the Fall term," stated Director of Athletics & Recreation and Head Women's Basketball Coach Mary Beth Spirk. "Competing at a high level while excelling in the classroom is what a Division III student-athlete strives for, and these men and women are the best. Our coaches understand that academics are a top priority and our athletes all know that success in the classroom comes first. Congratulations to all the Dean's List student-athletes."

The 172 Greyhounds account for 37 percent of the student-athletes that began the 2017-18 academic year on teams' rosters, and the total is 24.6 percent of the 700 total Moravian College students to achieve Dean's List status for the fall. The total also includes 25 student-athletes that are participating in more than one sport.

Both the baseball and women's lacrosse teams had 10 student-athletes named to the Dean's List while women's basketball, men's track & field and women's cross country squads each had nine honorees. The men's cross country, women's volleyball and cheerleading programs all had eight selections while the men's soccer team had seven followed by men's lacrosse with six, golf with five and men's basketball and men's tennis with three each. The 25 dual-sport student-athletes are listed with their first sport played during the academic year.
