Moravian to host National Girls and WOmen in Sport Day on February 10.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College Athletic Department will be celebrating National Girls and Women in Sport Day on Saturday, February 10. The event is scheduled to take place at 3:30 p.m. in Johnston Hall and is open to all community members.

In honor of the day, all girls between the ages of 4-17 will receive a free National Girls and Women in Sports Day t-shirt and complimentary admission to the Moravian College women's basketball game as the Greyhounds host Juniata College. In addition, Moravian College female student-athletes from the sports of softball, volleyball, field hockey, soccer, track, tennis and lacrosse will be available for autographs.

National Girls and Women in Sports Day celebrates the extraordinary achievements in girls' and women's sports and the positive influence athletic participation brings to their lives. This day recognizes the ongoing effort towards equality and access for women in sports and the nation's commitment to expand sport and participation opportunities for all girls and future generations.

This year the focus of National Girls & Women in Sports Day is to celebrate the importance of fair play, building awareness about Title IX and working together toward its promise of equal opportunity in sports.
