Top 10 Stories of 2017-18 - #3 Duncan & Howard Earn All-America Honors with Top Four Finishes at NCAA Championships

No. 3 on the Top 10 Stories of 2017-18 is Mary Kate Duncan '18 and Zion Howard '21 earning All-America honors.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Moravian College is continuing its look back at its 2017-18 athletic campaign. The next story in the second list of the summer as part of the Top 10 Stories from the past year selected by the athletic administration is our No. 3 story – senior Mary Kate Duncan and freshman Zion Howard earning All-America honors at the 2018 NCAA Division III Track & Field Outdoor National Championships with top four finishes.

Duncan earned All-America accolades for the third straight spring as she finished third in the javelin with a toss of 43.69 meters (143-4) on her sixth and final toss of the meet. Duncan was the 2017 NCAA Division III National Champion in the event, and earned All-America honors with a fourth place showing in 2016. Howard earned All-America honors in his first trip to the NCAA Championships as he finished fourth in the 200-meter dash in a time of 21.42 seconds, a personal-best and a time that qualified him for the USA Track & Field Junior National Championships. Howard had the second-fastest time in qualifying at 21.79 seconds as he won his preliminary heat.
