Moravian Thanks over 1,200 Donors During Inaugural Athletics Week of Giving in November

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College Department of Athletics and Recreation says Thank You to more than 1,200 donors that supported the Greyhounds' inaugural Week of Giving from November 11-17.

During the week that began with an initial goal of 700 donors, Moravian had 1,212 donors make gifts online, in person or through the mail to the athletic department totaling $73,412.54.

"The entire Athletic Department is grateful to our alumni, faculty, staff, friends and families who helped to make the giving week such a success. Thank you," commented Director of Athletics and Recreation and Head Women's Basketball Coach Mary Beth Spirk.

Every program benefited from donors during the week, and 13 programs saw donations total more than $2,000 for the specific sport. Five programs – football, men's lacrosse, women's lacrosse women's basketball and women's soccer – all topped 100 donors with football recording a high of 177. Four sports – football, women's basketball, men's lacrosse and baseball – received more than $6,000 in donations with football leading the week at $16,189. Moravian's Blue & Grey Club general fund also received more than $6,300 to benefit all of the Greyhounds' athletic programs.

All gifts help Moravian College provide the resources our student-athletes need to continue to succeed on the field and in the classroom.
