BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The next current student-athlete in Moravian College Department of Athletics & Recreation Get to Know Series is women's soccer student-athlete Alexa Brown '22. Brown has played in 28 matches with 27 starts in her career to go with a pair of goals including a game-winner.

Major: Health Sciences with a Pre PT track
How did you choose your sport? When I was younger, I tried about every sport, but soccer was the only one that stuck with me. Unlike most kids I didn't participate in other sports in the off season but was a year-round, one sport athlete through elementary, middle, and high school. Being around the game so much really grew my love for the sport and when it came time to graduate high school, I knew I couldn't picture my college experience without it!
Why did you come to Moravian College? Moravian was truly a perfect blend of everything I was looking for in a college. Not only did they offer me the opportunity to play the sport I loved, but they have an amazing program and brand-new facilities for my major. Outside of this, I felt extremely welcomed the moment I came to campus by not only the soccer team but all students and staff. Moravian gives me the chance to get involved with extracurriculars while also focusing on receiving a strong education that will prepare me for my future.
What is your major and how did you choose it? I am majoring in Health Sciences on a Pre PT track. I have had multiple knee injuries throughout my athletic career and have been in and out of PT; through these experiences I fell in love with the profession and the way it allows me to stay connected with sports and athletes while helping all individuals overcome their setbacks and get back to a healthy life.
What are your future plans? After I finish at Moravian, I hope to pursue my Doctorate of Physical Therapy in a 3 year graduate program. I am not sure what school this will be at, but I am hoping to stay close to home in the NJ or PA area!
What is your favorite place on campus? My favorite spot on campus is the Sally. I love the food in Delights Cafe and it is one of my favorite study spots, along with the other study classrooms in the building.
What activities/organizations at Moravian College have you been active in as a student-athlete? Outside of being a student athlete, I am a member of Pre-Health Club, Greek Life, and a 26 Point Ambassador.
What is your most memorable moment at Moravian? My most memorable moment was making my first start for the team freshman year in our opening game against Cortland State.
Do you have any pre-event rituals or superstitions? I always listen to music before games whether it is on the bus ride in my headphones or with my team in the locker room. It gets me excited to play!
What advice do you have for prospective student-athletes looking to attend Moravian College? Make sure you get to know about every aspect of the school, not just athletics but extracurriculars as well. Talk to the students and meet the members of the team for the sport you would be playing, you will spend most of your time in the next four years with these people and they become your closest friends!
What is the best piece of advice you've been given? The best advice I've been given is a quote my mom always said to me, "Your greatness is not what you have, it's what you give."
Who are your role models/most influential people? My biggest role models are my parents and my brother. They have supported me throughout my entire soccer and academic career and have shown me the importance of working hard, staying humble, and being true to who you are.
Which three people, living or dead, would you like to share a meal with? If I could choose three people to eat with, they would be Walt Disney, Adam Sandler, and Julie Ertz.
Tell us something about yourself that would surprise most people. My Aunt and Uncle both went to Moravian and my Uncle played football here.
