Get to Know Field Hockey Student-Athlete Ashley Kunsman

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The next current student-athlete in Moravian College Department of Athletics & Recreation Get to Know Series is field hockey student-athlete Ashley Kunsman '21. Kunsman was named to the Landmark All-Conference Second Team in 2019, and she is a two-time honoree on the Landmark Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll while making the National Field Hockey Coaches Association National Academic Squad three times. Kunsman has 429 saves and five shutouts in over 3,200 minutes in goal for the Greyhounds.

How did you choose your sport? I started field hockey in 7th grade where my best friend signed up with me to try a new sport. 

Why did you come to Moravian College? Close to home where I can see my family and a small community where everyone knows each other

What is your major and how did you choose it? Business Management and because I was brought up around business that it just makes sense

What are your future plans? To one day own my own business 

What is your favorite place on campus? The sitting area outside the hub where you can see the turf field (the hill) 

What activities/organizations at Moravian College have you been active in as a student-athlete? Being a part of a sorority (Tri Sigma) 

What is your most memorable moment at Moravian? Hanging outside the dorm circle freshman year making friends. 

Do you have any pre-event rituals or superstitions? Team dance in the locker rooms

What advice do you have for prospective student-athletes looking to attend Moravian College? If you're looking for a small, homie and beautiful campus, this place is for you to make the best memories. 

What is the best piece of advice you've been given? Don't take the next 4 yours for granted 

Who are your role models/most influential people? My parents by far

Tell us something about yourself that would surprise most people For my outgoing personality, I hate talking in front of a class/large group of people
