Get to Know Women's Volleyball Student-Athlete Natalia Matos

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The next current student-athlete in Moravian College Department of Athletics & Recreation Get to Know Series is women's volleyball student-athlete Natalia Matos '23. Matos has 171 digs, 72 assists, 17 service aces and eight kills in her career with the Greyhounds.

How did you choose your sport? When I was younger, I used to play different sports and my mom always suggested that I should play volleyball. I was extremely hesitant at first, but she was right, and I ended up loving the sport. 

Why did you come to Moravian College? Moravian was always so close to home, so I always overlooked it, but when I came to visit, I ended up loving Moravian and the beauty of it. I knew once I visited that this was where I belonged.

What is your major and how did you choose it? My major is Health Sciences. I've always known I wanted to be in the health field because I have always wanted to actively help others. Health Sciences at Moravian gave me a chance to explore all different health professions and keep my options open. 

What activities/organizations at Moravian College have you been active in as a student-athlete? Besides the volleyball team I am a member of the sorority, Tri-Sigma.

What advice do you have for prospective student-athletes looking to attend Moravian College? If you're looking for a school that really takes into consideration both academics and athletics this is the school for you.

What is the best piece of advice you've been given? The best advice I've been given is that I will always end up where I am supposed to be.

Who are your role models/most influential people? My role models are my parents, I always look up to them.
