Hound Highlights: Prince Sokpo - AIM Student Mentor and Senior Resident Advisor

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- During the Fall 2024-25 semester we are highlighting student-athletes and their work outside the playing arena. Our third feature in Prince Sokpo.

Prince Sokpo '25 is studying neuroscience and minoring in chemistry. The defense lineman works as an Advance Into Moravian (AIM) Student Mentor and Senior Resident Advisor (SRA) for the campus community. 

AIM provides a starting point for students who may struggle in specific areas of academics. The students come to the university two weeks before the semester begins.

"We get [the students] into that college life by getting them in early, having them learn how to be on Moravian's campus, and teaching them how to navigate the basics," Sokpo said. 

The program is run by some key faculty and staff members, including Assistant Dean for Inclusive Excellence, Alvert Hernandez, Assistant Director for Equity and Inclusion, Michelle Rios, and Vice President and Dean for Equity Inclusion Christopher Hunt. Sokpo worked closely with them and the students he was mentoring.

"My job as a mentor is to provide them with information, a background, and a good role model that represents what it's like to go through four years at Moravian," Sokpo said. 

While balancing the AIM Program, Sokpo also endured SRA training and football preseason training leading up to the beginning of the semester. 

As an SRA, he oversees a community of resident advisors who oversee Moravian residential students. He currently is one of the SRAs for the freshmen community of Bernhardt-Wilhelm. 

These tasks had piled up in Sokpo's schedule, but he managed to keep everything in order. 

"I have really great time management skills and know when to take things on," Sokpo said. 

Sokpo plans to keep pursuing and involving himself in the AIM Program and finish the year as an SRA.
