Moravian University Affiliations

Moravian University, as an NCAA Division III institution, places the highest priority on the overall quality of the educational and athletic experience.

Moravian University sponsors 23 intercollegiate athletics programs. Men’s teams compete at the varsity level in baseball, basketball, cross country, football, golf, lacrosse, soccer, swimming, tennis, and track and field (indoor and outdoor). Women’s teams compete in basketball, cross country, field hockey, golf, soccer, softball, swimming, tennis, track and field (indoor and outdoor), and volleyball.

Moravian began competition in 2007-08 in the Landmark Conference, which includes such schools as Drew University, Elizabethtown College, Goucher College, Juniata College, Susquehanna University, The Catholic University of America and The University of Scranton, and the Landmark Conference expanded in 2023-24 when the Landmark began offering football with the addition of Lycoming College and Wilkes University.

Approximately one-quarter of Moravian’s student body participates in intercollegiate athletics every year, and many more compete in club sports and intramurals. Moravian’s student-athletes excel academically. The University has had 55 College Sports Communicators of America Academic All-Americans while more than 100 student-athletes earn spots on the conference All-Academic Honor Rolls yearly.

A Division III institution, Moravian has excellent athletics facilities including the venerable Johnston Hall, Breidegam Fieldhouse, and the Moravian University Steel Athletics Complex with Turf on Rocco Calvo Field and an eight-lane, Olympic-quality Mondo track. Moravian underwent a multimillion dollar project that included a state of the art fitness center extending from the Breidegam Fieldhouse that opened in January 2012 and the conversion of the HUB Quad from natural grass to the turf John Makuvek Field in the summer of 2016.
