BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Moravian College hosted its Annual Student-Athlete Advisory Committee Kickoff event in Johnston Hall Tuesday evening to start the 2013-14 academic year and honor all of its student-athletes.
The night began with president Bryon L. Grigsby '90 addressing the student-athletes as he prepares to begin his first academic year leading the institution.
Director of Athletics Scot Dapp then introduced the athletic department staff. Dr. Bob Brill of the psychology department and Moravian's Faculty Athletic Representative honored the spring academic award winners. Dapp returned to announce the spring athletic postseason award winners.
Director of the Career Center Amy Saul and Director of Leadership Development Katie Dantsin also spoke to the student-athletes.
Senior women's basketball player Ericka Blair, President of SAAC and her fellow officers, senior football player Robbie Moyer, Vice-President, senior football player Keith Hinds, Treasurer and sophomore men's cross country and track & field athlete Max Korten, Secretary, spoke on SAAC and the projects the group does each year.
At the end of the evening, all freshmen and transfer student-athletes received a t-shirt from SAAC, and all of Moravian's student-athletes received their planners for the year. The coaching staff also served up ice cream to finish off the event, and throughout the evening, there were raffle prizes for the student-athletes.
