Moravian Participating in 3rd Annual NCAA Division III Week

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Moravian College is joining with schools across the country in celebration of NCAA Division III Week, which officially began on Monday, April 7 and runs through Sunday, April 13.

This third annual event will celebrate student-athletes' academic achievements and athletic accomplishments, in addition to their campus leadership and their involvement in community service. The week is also helping NCAA Division III celebrate its 40th year.

The Greyhounds will be hosting its annual National Student-Athlete Appreciation Day get together Thursday evening in Johnston Hall when Moravian will honor its student-athletes that have earned All-Conference, All-Region, All-America and conference academic awards or won individual conference championships so far in 2013-14 as well as the community service projects the Greyhounds have completed.

Moravian kickoff its participation in Division III Week a couple of days early by hosting the Lehigh and Bethlehem chapters of Special Olympics for a tournament on Saturday, April 5. More on this event will be released on Friday, April 11.

The Greyhounds are also joining with other schools in the Landmark Conference on Thursday, April 10 for Landmark Gear Day. All student-athletes are being asked to wear their school colors and post pictures to social media with the hashtags #LCgearday and #d3week. Moravian will be adding pictures to its Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/MoravianCollegeAthletics), Twitter (https://twitter.com/MCGreyhounds) and Instagram (http://instagram.com/moravianathletics) throughout the day as well.
