21 Greyhounds to Compete at Penn Relays

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College men's and women's track & field teams will be sending 21 student-athletes to compete in the 120th Penn Relays hosted by The University of Pennsylvania at historic Franklin Field this week.

Senior David Cariello will kick off the action by competing in the decathlon on Tuesday and Wednesday, April 22 and 23. The event kicks off at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday while the final five events will start on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m.

Junior Hailey Kester will start the Hounds off on Thursday, April 24 by competing in the women's college pole vault at 10:00 a.m. The Greyhounds' female 4x100-meter relay squad of juniors Brianna Wright, Brielle Sutter and Morgan Redmond and sophomore Corinne Glass will run at 12:55 p.m. while Sutter, Redmond, Glass and senior Jennifer Smilgis will compete in the Centennial/MAC 4x400-meter relay at 7:10 p.m.

Junior Dillon Farrell will close out the action on Thursday by running in the Olympic Development 5,000-meter run at 10:00 p.m.

Friday will see senior Yacine Zerdoum, sophomores Gavin Bailey and Tyler Dwyer and freshman Cory Taggert run in the Pop Haddleton/MAC 4x400-meter relay at 5:10 p.m. The Greyhounds are slated to have a 4x100-meter relay squad earlier in the day Friday in a few injuries heal in time.

The Hounds also have three field competitors on Friday with junior Parker Munson in the college men's shot put at 1:15 p.m., sophomore Ryan Karnopp in the college men's Eastern pole vault at 3:00 p.m. and sophomore Albert Myers  in the college men's Eastern long jump at 3:30 p.m.

Moravian will close out the Penn Relays on Saturday with two competitors at 9:00 a.m. Senior Kristopher Joint will be in the college men's Eastern triple jump while senior Timothy Lorah is scheduled to participate in the college men's javelin.
