Moravian Hosting Blue & Grey 5K on April 12

Blue & Grey 5K Run

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Moravian College will be hosting the first Blue & Grey 5K Run/Walk on Sunday, April 12 at 9:30 a.m. with the race beginning and ending on Moravian's historic South Campus.

The route will take runners and walkers along the roads that border Monocacy Creek and Lehigh River before returning to campus.

"The intention of the Blue & Grey 5k is to promote physical activity among the Moravian College and local community," commented Sara Steinman, Director of Intramurals/Coordinator of Wellness Acativities and Assistant Women's Basketball Coach at Moravian and the organizer of the race. "I am looking forward to a great turnout of students, faculty, staff, alumni, and runners from the Lehigh Valley.  The course is flat and fast that travels along the Lehigh River and Monocacy Creek in historic Bethlehem.

"The 5k falls right in the middle of the college's annual walking challenge so it is perfect motivation to participate," continued Steinman. "There is the incentive to train for a 5k race while also adding steps. I am honored to donate the proceeds to the Blue & Grey Club. It is an outstanding organization that supports our student-athletes."

The entry fee is $25 for men, women and Moravian faculty and staff members and $10 for Moravian students and children 14 and under. There will be awards for the overall male and female winner, as well as the top male and female runners from each age group category.

All runners who register prior to April 3 are guaranteed to receive a race t-shirt.  To learn more, visit www.moraviansports.com/blueandgrey5k.

Packet pick-up will take place race morning in The HILL parking lot on South Campus beginning at 8:00am.
