Moravian Participating in 3rd Annnual NCAA Division III Week

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Moravian College is joining with schools across the country in celebration of NCAA Division III Week, which officially begins on Monday, April 6 and runs through Sunday, April 12.

This fourth annual event will celebrate student-athletes' academic achievements and athletic accomplishments, in addition to their campus leadership and their involvement in community service.

The Greyhounds will be hosting its annual National Student-Athlete Appreciation Day get together on Monday, April 13 in the evening in Johnston Hall as Moravian will honor its student-athletes that have earned All-Conference, All-Region, All-America and conference academic awards or won individual conference championships so far in 2014-15 as well as the community service projects the Greyhounds have completed.

Moravian kickoff its participation in Division III Week a week early by hosting the Lehigh County and Bethlehem City chapters of Special Olympics for a tournament on Saturday, March 28. Check out more on the event at http://moraviansports.com/information/news/2014-15/20150328gdnqly.

The Greyhounds are also joining with other schools in the Landmark Conference throughout the week for Landmark Gear Day. All student-athletes are being asked to wear their school colors and post pictures to social media with the hashtags #LCgearday and #d3week. The Greyhounds have split up the week with softball and baseball on Monday, April 6, cross country and track & field on April 7, golf, men's and women's tennis and women's volleyball on April 8, men's and women's basketball, field hockey and men's and women's lacrosse on April 9 and football and men's and women's soccer on April 10.

Moravian had a student-athlete from each team answer the question as to why the chose to come to Moravian and Division III.
