SAAC Story on Special Olympics Part of NCAA Spotlight Poll for May

2015 Moravian College Special Olympics Basketball Tournament

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. --- Moravian College's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee's Special Olympics story Moravian SAAC Hosts Annual Special Olympics Basketball Tournament has been nominated for this month's NCAA Division III Special Olympics Spotlight Poll.

The NCAA Division III Special Olympics Spotlight Poll is a story-telling initiative located on ncaa.org/D3SpecialOlympics. It features three new stories per month – each highlighting a Division III and Special Olympics joint activity or event.

Moravian's SAAC hosted its 4th Annual Special Olympics Basketball Tournament in Timothy Breidegam Fieldhouse on Saturday, March 28 with 40 participants from the Lehigh County Special Olympics and Bethlehem City Special Olympics and over 80 Moravian student-athletes.

The story with the highest number of votes on May 25 is the winner. The poll will close at 5:00 p.m. ET. The winning institution will be given $500 to use for its next Special Olympics event. Other perks for winning include being recognized in the Division III Monthly Newsletter and on the Division III Special Olympics website.

Both written and digital (video, photo book, etc.) submissions are accepted. Featured stories are selected based on inclusion of the student-athlete perspective and Division III messaging.
