Lambright Selected to Capital One Academic All-District First Team

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Moravian College senior Emily Lambright has been named to the 2015 Capital One Academic All-District IV NCAA Division III Women's Track & Field/Cross Country First Teams selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

By making the All-District First Team, Lambright is now on the national ballot to try for Capital One Academic All-America® accolades for a second straight year after being on the Second Team a year ago, which will be announced on Tuesday, June 23. Moravian has had 42 Capital One Academic All-Americans®.

To be eligible for Capital One Academic All-America® accolades, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.30 grade-point average, be a sophomore, junior or senior and be a starter or significant reserve. Beginning in 2011-12, the program is made up of four levels – NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and College Division (NAIA, Canadian colleges and junior colleges).  District IV in NCAA Division III is made up of schools from Pennsylvania.

Lambright earned a spot on the 2014 Landmark Cross Country All-Conference First team with a fourth place finis, earning the honor for the second straight year. She posted a career-best time of 22:54.1 at NCAA Division III Mideast Regional this past November as she garnered All-Region honors for the first time in her career. Lambright made the All-Conference Second Team in 2011 as well, and she has helped the Greyhounds to 10 Landmark titles in her 12 seasons over cross country, indoor track & field and outdoor track & field.

On the track, Lambright had the best winter and spring of her career. She was named to the Landmark All-Conference First Team indoors after winning the conference individual titles in both the 3,000 and 5,000-meter runs, and Lambright duplicated the feat outdoors as she won the 5,000 and 10,000-meter runs. In 2004, she earned spots on the All-Conference Second Team for runner-up finishes in the mile and 3,000 meter runs indoors, and Lambright made the Second Team outdoors with a second-place showing in the 5,000 meter run.

Lambright was named to the 2013-14 Landmark All-Sportsmanship Teams during all three seasons, and she has been named to the Landmark Academic Honor Roll nine times and was on the 2012 Landmark Fall All-Academic Team. Lambright was named the 2014 Landmark Conference Senior Scholar-Athlete for women's cross country. She was also selected as Moravian's 2015 Blue & Grey Senior Female Scholar-Athlete after graduating with a 4.00 GPA.

When she wasn't competing, Lambright served as the finance chair for Moco for Coco, and she played the principle oboe in Moravian's orchestra. Lambright graduated on May 16 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and political science. She is heading to Duke University to work on a Ph.D.
