BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Moravian College finishes its look back at the 2014-15 athletic campaign with Top 10 Stories from the past year including the No. 1 story – the men's and women's track & field teams sweeping the Landmark Conference Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Championships for the sixth time in the eight-year history of the conference.

The women's program has won all eight indoor and outdoor titles since the conference began action in 2007-08. Their 2015 titles came by 129 points over Elizabethtown College at the indoor championship and by 131 points over Susquehanna University, which hosted both meets this past year, at the two-day outdoor championship.

The men's squad has won the last six and seven total indoor championships and recaptured the outdoor title after winning the first six in conference history. This year they won the indoor title by 30 points over rival Susquehanna, and the Hounds had a 26-point win over the Crusaders outdoors.

"I know this is cliché but it's never easy," commented Baumann. "You're trying to keep 80 athletes motivated for a common purpose for over six months as they balance illnesses, injuries, academic and work demands, bad training weather, and day-to-day stress. We have days in the middle of the season where we wonder if we'll even score a point at the conference meet, but the athletes deserve all the credit, they always seem to step up when we need them to. This year we had hamstring injuries to some of our top sprinters and jumpers, mono, some stress fractures to overcome, but again, the rest of the team just picked it up. The athletes come to Moravian because they want to contribute to a rich history, contend for conference titles, and for some move on to additional post-season meets. They're competitive athletes, and that's how we've been able to pull out some really close, hard-fought battles to win the conference meet."

In addition to winning the team titles, the Greyhounds picked up numerous All-Conference and major awards.

Baumann and his staff of assistant coaches - Jonathan D'Ottavio (throws), Rebecca Rhodes (jumps), Mike Lawyrk (pole vault), Steve Rahn (sprints/hurdles), Michael El Kazzaz (pole vault) and Gary Zack (pole vault) earned both the Men's and Women's Coaching Staff of the Year honors at both championships.

For the women indoors, freshman Melissa Cheong led the women's team, which had 15 student-athletes garner 26 All-Conference nods, as she earned Landmark Rookie of the Year honors. Cheong was an All-Conference First Team selection by winning the high jump, and she was on the All-Conference Second Team for runner-up finishes in the 60-meter hurdles and the long jump.

Senior Morgan Redmond earned First Team honors in the 60-meter hurdles, and she joined seniors Brielle Sutter and Brianna Wright and junior Corinne Glass to win the 4x200-meter relay. Redmond, Sutter and Glass teamed with freshman Casie Cronk captured first in the 4x400-meter relay. Wright also earned All-Conference First Team with a win in the 60-meter dash while Sutter won the 200-meter dash for All-Conference accolades. Senior Emily Lambright earned a pair of Landmark All-Conference First Team honors by winning both the 3,000-meter and 5,000-meter runs. Senior Dana Fineman made the First Team by winning the pole vault while junior Christelle Reglas captured the long jump title to make the All-Conference First Team.

Outdoors, Glass led the women's team, which had 12 student-athletes garner 22 All-Conference nods, as she earned Landmark Track Athlete of the Year honors. Glass was an All-Conference First Team selection by winning the 200-meter and 400-meter dashes with meet and school records. Glass teamed with Redmond, Sutter and sophomore Lauren White to win the 4x100-meter relay in a meet record time.

Redmond also earned First Team honors in the 100-meter hurdles and 400-meter hurdles. Lambright captured two titles in the 5,000 meter and 10,000 meter runs while Fineman repeated as the pole vault champion. Senior Jenny Kratch made the All-Conference First Team by winning the discus.

For the men indoors, the Greyhounds had 19 student-athletes earn 24 All-Conference honors while sophomore jumper Kahron Walker selected as the Field Athlete of the Year while freshman sprinter Eric Morton was named the Rookie of the Year. Walker named to the Landmark All-Conference First Team for winning the high jump, and he also earned All-Conference Second Team honors for runner-up finishes in the long jump and triple jump. Morton captured an All-Conference Second Team selection as part of Moravian's 4x200-meter relay team with senior Travis Dorsa and sophomores Jamil Poole and Jordan Sweeney. Morton also had a third place finish in the 60-meter dash and a fourth place in the 200-meter dash.

In addition to Walker, the Greyhounds swept the gold medals and All-Conference First Team honors in the field events with junior Ryan Karnopp winning the pole vault, sophomore Gavin Bailey capturing the long jump, senior Chris Ossont winning the triple jump, senior Parker Munson taking first in the shot put and sophomore Greg Cahill winning the 35-pound weight throw.

Outdoors for the Hounds, the men's squad had 17 student-athletes earn 25 All-Conference honors while Walker was selected as the Field Athlete of the Year for the second time this year. Walker named to the Landmark All-Conference First Team for winning the high jump and triple jump.

Moravian won nine other gold medals outdoors on the men's side with Bailey and Munson each winning two titles. Bailey won the 400-meter hurdles and the long jump, and he made the Second Team for a runner-up finish in the 100-meter dash while Munson captured the shot put and the discus. Karnopp won the pole vault while Cahill finished first in the hammer throw.

The Greyhounds will look to continue their dominance of the conference when the indoor season kicks off in December 2016.
