10 Greyhounds Named USTFCCCA All-Mideast Region in Indoor Track & Field

NEW ORLEANS, La. --- The Moravian College men's and women's track & field teams had 10 student-athletes named as United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Region honorees this week.

The USTFCCCA is in its first year named All-Region selections for indoor and outdoor track & field at the NCAA Division III level after having All-Region honors in cross country for a number of years. For a student-athlete to earn All-Region honors, an athlete must be ranked in the top-5 of an individual event in the region according to the final Track & Field Results Reporting System data or be part of a top-3 relay team. Moravian is part of the Mideast Region.

The Greyhound men had six honors with senior Gavin Bailey in the long jump, junior Greg Cahill in the weight throw, graduate student Parker Munson in the shot put, freshman Denzel Pettway in the shot put, junior Cory Taggert in the 800-meter run and junior Kahron Walker in the high jump.

The Moravian women's team had four student-athletes earn five honors with senior Corinne Glass earning All-Region in both the 200-meter and 400-meter dashes. Joining Glass were junior Meg Brockett in the 5,000-meter run, sophomore Melissa Cheong in the high jump and junior Jackie Finnegan in the weight throw.

Brockett is scheduled to run in the 5,000-meter run at the 2016 NCAA Indoor National Championship being hosted by Grinnell (Iowa) College on Friday, March 11 at 6:50 p.m. EST to finish off the indoor season.
