Morrin Selected as Landmark Basbeall Pitcher of the Week

TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian College freshman hurler Dan Morrin has been selected as the Landmark Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week for his performance last week.

Morrin made his collegiate debut a memorable one as he picked up the victory in the Greyhounds' 8-5 win over No. 12-ranked Marietta (Ohio) College at the Snowbird Classic in Port Charlotte, Florida. Morrin tossed the first six innings of the game, scattering five hits and walking none. He struck out eight batters and had an 8-0 lead when he left the mound for the afternoon.

"Dan pitched great. For his first collegiate start, he controlled the tempo of the game, and was able to compete in the strike zone," commented Head Coach Paul Engelhardt. "To come out against a team like that as a freshman...he deserves a lot of credit. He was composed, he competed, and he gave our team a great chance to win. We look forward to having Dan with us for four years."

The Greyhounds, now 2-1 on the season with all three games against teams in the Top 25, will close out their trip to the Snowbird Classic on Tuesday, March 10 in a non-conference game versus Ohio Wesleyan University starting at 2:00 p.m.
