TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian College senior first baseman Charles Savite and sophomore pitcher Ryan Kahn have been honored as the Landmark Conference Baseball Athlete and Pitcher of the Week for their performances last week.

The duo helped the Greyhounds to a 3-1 record over the past seven days including a Landmark Conference series sweep at Juniata College over the weekend that clinched Moravian's eighth straight trip to the Landmark Conference Tournament.

Savite hit .533, going 8-for-15 from the plate, to go with three doubles and three home runs as he had a 1.333 slugging percentage. Savite also scored six runs and drove in another eight runs to become the second player in school history to reach 150 career RBIs, now with 151. Savite also drew three walks and was hit by a pitch for a .632 on-base percentage while adding one stolen bases. Savite had 25 putouts to raise he school record to 1,303 and he added two assists last week. Savite became the first player in school history to reach 600 career at-bats on Sunday, now with 604.

"Charles had a great week at the plate, and our offense is really starting to click so a number of players had great weeks," said Head Coach Paul Engelhardt. "Charles was able to accomplish some things this week, and we're looking forward to being a senior leader as we head into the playoffs."

Kahn earned his second straight win on the mound as he scattered three hits over seven innings and did not walk a batter to go with seven strikeouts in an 11-0 shutout at Juniata on Saturday.

"For the second week in a row, Ryan pitched a really well to get us a key victory as we head into the playoffs," commented Engelhardt. "He's looked really good on the mound and is doing a good job of keeping opposing batters off balance at the plate."

Moravian, 17-18 overall, is scheduled to play its final home game of the season on Tuesday, April 26 when the Greyhounds will host Rutgers-Camden in a non-conference contest beginning at 3:30 p.m. at Gillespie Field.
