Savite Named to D3baseball.com Team of the Week

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. --- Moravian College senior first baseman Charles Savite has been named to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week for his performance the last seven days.

Savite helped the Greyhounds to a 3-1 record in last week's action including a Landmark Conference series sweep at Juniata College over the weekend that clinched Moravian's eighth straight trip to the Landmark Conference Tournament. Savite posted a .533 batting average as he went 8-for-15 from the plate. He also had three doubles and three home runs for a 1.333 slugging percentage. Savite scored six times and drove in another eight runs to become the second player in school history to reach 150 career RBIs, now with 151. He drew three walks and was hit by a pitch for a .632 on-base percentage while adding one stolen base. Savite made 25 putouts at his first base position to raise he school record to 1,303 and he added two assists last week. Savite became the first player in school history to reach 600 career at-bats on Sunday, now with 604.

"Charles accomplished some good things at the plate last week," said Head Coach Paul Engelhardt. "We are looking forward to him being one of our senior leaders as we head into the playoffs next weekend."

Moravian, 17-18 overall, is scheduled to play its final home game of the season on Tuesday, April 26 when the Greyhounds will host Rutgers-Camden in a non-conference contest beginning at 3:30 p.m. at Gillespie Field.
