Four Greyhounds Named to Landmark Conference Baseball All-Decade Team

TOWSON, Md. --- The 2016-17 season marks the 10th year anniversary for the Landmark Conference. To help celebrate, the Landmark is featuring individuals that have stood out over the past 10 years.

Athletes that were named All-Conference First Team a minimum of two times, and/or were named Landmark Player of the Year, during their career were nominated automatically, and each team had the opportunity to nominate additional individuals for consideration. The All-Decade team was selected by the membership and is being announced prior to the conference championship.

Brendan Close from the class of 2012, Kevin O'Keefe from the class of 2012, David Zubia from the class of 2012 and Matt Hanson from the class of 2015 have been named to the Baseball All-Decade Team.

Close was a three-time First Team selection for the Greyhounds (2009, 2011, 2012) and was named to the Second Team in 2010. Close was the 2011 and 2012 Pitcher of the Year and finished he playing career with 30 wins, 285 strikeouts and an ERA of 2.35.

O'Keefe was named to the First Team in 2009 and to the Second Team in 2010. He played in 159 games with 212 hits, 164 RBI, 53 doubles, 10 triples, 12 home runs, and a .371 batting average.

Zubia was the 2012 Landmark Player of the Year, and was also named to the First Team. He was named to the Academic Honor Roll twice (2011, 2012) and finished his career at Moravian with 84 RBI, 25 doubles, and a batting average of .385.

Hanson was a three-time First Team selection for the Greyhounds in 2013, 2014, and 2015. He was named the Landmark Player of the Year in 2014 and finished his career with 210 hits, 116 RBI, 39 doubles, 11 triples, and a batting average of .374.
