READING, Pa. --- The Moravian College baseball team fell to host Alvernia University, 3-0, in non-conference action Wednesday afternoon.

The Greyhounds were limited to six hits in the contest with singles by sophomore right fielder Carmine Palummo, junior center fielder Austin Markowski, senior third baseman David Wodzisz, senior pinch hitter Ezra Rawdon, sophomore catcher Ian Luberti and junior catcher Steve Lazicki.

Moravian used four pitchers in the game with junior Brendon Caraway making the start and allowing three runs on eight hits and three walks in five innings of action. Freshman Kyle Serman, junior Kevin Shields and sophomore Connor Morro each tossed one inning with Serman allowing one hit and Morro recording one strikeout.

The Golden Wolves scored all three of their runs in the bottom of the fourth inning. The Blue and Grey left runners in scoring position in the sixth and eighth innings as they looked to rally late in the game.

Moravian is slated to return to action on Saturday, April 21 in a non-conference doubleheader versus Vassar (N.Y.) College beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Gillespie Field in Bethlehem.
