CAMDEN, N.J. --- The Moravian College baseball team saw a late rally by host Rutgers-Camden lift the Raptors to a 7-3 win over the Greyhounds in non-conference action Tuesday afternoon at Campbells Field.

The Hounds, now 18-15 on the year, had nine hits in the contest with senior first baseman Joey Maker going 2-for-4 and junior designated hitter Evan Kulig going 2-for-5.

Moravian sent five pitchers to the mound in the game with junior Brendon Caraway making the start and allowing two runs on three hits to go with two strikeouts in two innings of action. Junior Kevin Shields tossed one inning while freshman Rodney Berger allowed a run on two hits in his inning of work. Junior Billy Roethke tossed two innings with three unearned runs on two hits and a walk to go with two strikeouts while junior Tyler Caraway tossed the final two innings with a run on three hits to go with one strikeout.

Rutgers-Camden would take a 2-0 lead in the first inning.

The Greyhounds scored twice in the top of the fourth inning to knot the score. Maker led off with a single and scored on an RBI double by junior catcher Chase Rogers. Rogers eventually scored on an error. However, the Raptors answered in the bottom of the frame to move back in front 3-2.

The Blue and Grey would tie the score again in the top of the sixth inning when Rogers reached on a fielder's chose followed by singles from freshman shortstop Michael Miceli and sophomore right fielder Carmine Palummo that drove in Rogers.

Rutgers-Camden answered back with three runs in the bottom of the sixth and one more in the seventh inning to finish off the scoring.

Moravian is slated to return to action on Wednesday, April 25 in a non-conference game at DeSales University with first pitch scheduled for 4:00 p.m. The contest is scheduled to be aired live by Service Electric TV-2 Sports.
