Why did you choose Moravian College?
I chose Moravian College because it was the best choice to provide me with a great education and the opportunity to continue my athletic career at a highly competitive level.
What is your major and why?
I am a marketing major because I am very interested in the business world. I enjoy working with people and the marketing industry is a great environment to showcase that.
What has been your favorite course at Moravian and why?
My favorite course at Moravian so far has been Marketing Management. The subject matter is very fascinating and it is easy for me to grasp the concepts.
What are your plans for the future once you finish your degree at Moravian?
After college, I plan to get a job in the business world, hopefully involving marketing. I am also very interested in starting my own business.
What is your most memorable moment as a Greyhound?
My favorite memory so far as a Greyhound has to be my first start freshman year down in Florida. It was my first collegiate game and we dominated the other team and sharing the victory with my teammates was a great way to begin my Greyhound career.
How has being an athlete helped you as a student and in the classroom?
Being a student-athlete has helped me a lot in the classroom. My competitiveness helps me push myself to do the best I can everyday. Representing the school as an athlete also provides me with a sense of pride, therefore I want to be active in class to lead by a good example.
What is the hardest part of your sport?
The hardest part about baseball is keeping concentration throughout the entire game and being able to bounce back from negative outcomes. As a pitcher, it is my responsibility to stay focused and to battle on every pitch in order to give my teammates the best chance to help us win.
Why do you wear your jersey number?
I have always been #22 for every sport for my entire life, but it was taken when I got to college, so I picked 40. I had a very successful freshman season, so I decided that it was a good sign to keep the number and begin a new chapter of my athletic career.
Name one obstacle or form of adversity you have had to overcome.
One form of adversity that I have had to go through was a morning workout which included running two miles and army crawling across the muddy quad in the rain. My teammates and I all pushed each other through the tough conditions and it made us stronger.
Why is community service important to your role as a student-athlete at Moravian?
Community service is very important as a student-athlete because in this day and age, athletes are looked up to as leaders. By giving back to the community, it gives student-athletes a sense of accomplishment and the community appreciates the service.
What advice do you have for a prospective Moravian College student-athlete?
The only advice I have for any prospective student-athlete at Moravian is to be open to new ideas, people, and experiences because that is what college is all about. It's important because its those ideas, people, and experiences that shape you as a person.
