Orlando Named to Lindy's Sports Preseason All-America 2nd Team

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. --- Moravian College junior defensive back Anthony Orlando has been selected to the 2014 Lindy's Sports Preseason All-America Second Team.

In his first season as a Greyhound last fall, Orlando was honored on the D3football.com All-South Region Second Team, the ECAC Division III South All-Star First Team and the All-Centennial Conference First Team. He started all 10 games after transferring to the school from NCAA Division I Colgate University.

Orlando was second on the team with 103 tackles including a team-leading 64 solo stops. Orlando and linebacker Kevin Bracken became the first Greyhound teammates to record more than 100 tackles in a season since 1999, and 2013 was the first time that Moravian had a player register 100 tackles since 2002.

Orlando added five tackles for loss, two sacks, a pass break-up, a forced fumble and three fumble recoveries. Two of his fumble recoveries were returned for touchdowns, including a 45-yard return versus Franklin & Marshall College and a 44-yard run back against Gettysburg College, both helping the Greyhounds to wins in those contests.

"This is a great honor for Anthony and our program," stated third-year Head Coach Jeff Pukszyn. "He has natural instincts and is a physical force on the field. His best football is still ahead of him, and we are excited to see what he can help us do this fall."
