Hounds Read at Asa Packer Elementary School

Football Read Across America in 2015

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Members of the Moravian College football team spent part of the morning Friday, March 27 at Asa Packer Elementary School participating in the annual Read Across America for Dr. Seuss birthday.

While Dr. Seuss's birthday is at the beginning of March, snow days postponed the Greyhounds' trip twice before they were able to take the time to be there Friday morning.

"Our players really look forward to doing this each year, and we're glad we were finally able to schedule a day where the weather cooperated so we could go to the school," commented Head Coach Jeff Pukszyn. "Our guys enjoy spending time with the elementary students, reading to them and just talking about anything the kids have to ask."

The 17 players took time to visit classrooms from kindergarten to fifth grade in the school and read book to the classes.

Juniors Jason Borso, Brendan Downey, Tim McCabe, Jimmy McCarthy, Max Neis, Anthony Orlando and Andrew Racobaldo, sophomores Mike Hayes, Chris Negron, Chuka Onukwugha, Khalil Raymond and C.J. Rizzo and freshmen Kyle Conroy, Mark Dignazio, Brady Mutton, Nick Nejad and Hayward Smith represented the Greyhounds on the trip.
