Football Hosts Alumni Flag Football Game

Football Hosts Alumni Flag Football Game

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College Football Program hosted its first annual Alumni Flag Football Game on Saturday April 25th following the culmination of the team's Spring workouts.

A total of 19 former Hounds came back to Rocco Calvo Field to relive the glory days for an 8 on 8 flag game which featured two 20-minute halves. Two former quarterbacks, Marc Braxmeier and Charlie Bowden, served as team captains and ultimately it was Bowden's squad of "Elder Statesmen" coming away with a 49-35 victory.

After the game, the alumni were treated to a cookout which featured burgers and Potts' hot dogs as well as plenty of ice-cold beverages. Head Coach Jeff Pukszyn said it was a great day for everyone involved - "Having guys from the early '80's through the class of 2014 made the first annual Alumni Flag Football game a huge success. It was also great for our current players to have the opportunity to meet and interact with so many former players from different eras. As we tell our players, tradition never graduates and that was evident with the day's turnout.
