Hounds Picked 4th in Centennial Conference Preseason Poll at #CCKickoff15

LANCASTER, Pa. --- Moravian College Head Football Coach Jeff Pukszyn and senior running back Luke Gotzon took part in the 2015 Centennial Conference Media Day (#CCKickoff15) at Franklin & Marshall College Wednesday.

The head coaches and a student-athlete from each of the conference's 10 schools met at F&M's Ann & Richard Barshinger Life Sciences & Philosophy Building for the annual get together. After a welcome from Centennial Conference Executive Director Steve Ulrich, the coaches and student-athletes rotated through three stations. Pukszyn and Gotzon both sat down for interviews with Tom Housenick from the Allentown Morning Call for a preview in their opening session.

The duo would go on to do Periscope interviews that can be seen for Pukszyn here and for Gotzon here.

Pukszyn and Gotzon would also sit down for a chat with Ulrich. That interview was aired live and can be seen at www.centennialconference.tv.

The afternoon finished with the unveiling of the 2015 Centennial Conference Preseason Poll, which can be found at http://www.centennial.org/sports/fball/2015-16/guide/8-5-Poll, and a lunch with the coaches, student-athletes and media in attendance.

The Greyhounds, who were 5-5 last fall, are picked fourth in the poll with 97 points, one point ahead of Gettysburg College and four points ahead of Franklin & Marshall. Johns Hopkins University received 17 first-place votes and was picked to win its seventh straight conference title. Muhlenberg College was second in the poll with the final three first place votes while Ursinus College was third ahead of Moravian.

"We've made strides as a program over the last two years, and it nice recognized by the conference for that improvement," commented Pukszyn. "At this point, we're more focused on preseason camp to get prepared for week one against King's. We hope we can exceed this preseason ranking in November but we need to build a foundation from the start of camp to continue the improvement on the field."

Moravian reports to camp on Saturday, August 15 with 107 players on the current roster, and the Greyhounds will kick off their 2015 campaign on Saturday, September 5 in a non-conference game at 6:00 p.m. in Wilkes-Barre.
