Moravian Ready for 2015 Centennial Conference Opener at McDaniel on Saturday

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College football team will open its 2015 Centennial Conference season on Saturday, September 12 when the Greyhounds travel to Westminster, Maryland to battle McDaniel College at 1:00 p.m.

The Hounds are coming off of a 21-17 last minute victory at King's College last Saturday night. It was Moravian's first night game since 2007, and the last time the Greyhounds won a game in the final minute since a Brian Reckenbeil field goal earned the Hounds a 44-41 win over Johns Hopkins University on September 22, 2007.

At Kings, it was junior running back Chris Negron scoring on a one-yard touchdown run with 51 seconds to clinch the win. Negron enters Saturday's game at McDaniel needing just two yards to become the tenth Greyhound to reach 2,000 rushing yards in a career. Junior wide receiver Jalen Snyder-Scipio reached the 1,000-yard receiving mark last Saturday night, the 17th Hound to achieve the milestone.

Moravian's defense limited King's to 281 yards of offense and came up with a pair of interceptions, one by senior defensive back Anthony Orlando and the other by freshman linebacker Steve Ewald. The Greyhounds recorded 10 tackles for loss last Saturday night including three sacks.
