Hounds Tied for 5th in South Region in 1st NCAA DIII Regional Rankings of 2015

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. --- The Moravian College football team has won five straight games and sits at 7-1 for just the third time in school history, and the Greyhounds are now tied for fifth with Washington & Lee University in the NCAA South Region in the first NCAA Division III Regional Rankings of the 2015 season.

The Hounds, who are 6-1 in Centennial Conference action, are ranked regionally for the first time since 1993 when the squad was tied for fourth in the South Region. The 1993 campaign ended with the Greyhounds reaching the NCAA Division III Playoffs and going 8-3, just one of five 8-plus win seasons in the 91-year history of the program. The only Moravian team to win more than eight games was the 1988 squad that went 10-2 and reached the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division III playoffs, the only other NCAA playoff team in school history.

The 2015 NCAA Division III playoffs begin on Saturday, November 21 with 32 teams in the tournament. There are 25 automatic berths, one Pool B berth for schools in conferences that do not have an automatic qualifier, and six Pool C/at-large berths across the nation.
