Greyhounds Receive Votes in 2016 D3football.com Top 25 Preseason Poll

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. --- The Moravian College football team has received votes in the 2016 D3football.com Preseason Top 25 poll released Tuesday.

Sixth-year Head Coach Jeff Pukszyn has 59 letterwinners and 14 starters returning from last year's 8-3 squad that played in the inaugural Centennial Conference-Middle Atlantic Conference Bowl Series. The eight victories are tied for the third most in a single season in school history, and Moravian's 8-1 start was just the second in the 91-year history of the program. The 2016 Hounds report to campus on Saturday, August 13 and will begin practice on Sunday, August 14.

"This is a great way to start off 2016," commented Pukszyn. "Obviously, this is a whole new team that will be reporting next month that wants to form its own identity but they are also looking to build off of last year's success."

Moravian is one of three Centennial Conference squads in the poll with defending champion Johns Hopkins University ranked 15th and rival Muhlenberg College also receiving votes. The Greyhounds' opponent from last year's MAC-Centennial Bowl Series game Delaware Valley University is ranked 25th in the poll.
