Hounds Ready for First Road Trip of 2016 Saturday at Johns Hopkins

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College football team is for its first road game of the 2016 season when the Greyhounds travel to nationally-ranked Johns Hopkins University on Saturday, September 17. Kickoff for the Centennial Conference contest is set for 12:00 p.m. at Homewood Field in Baltimore.

Moravian enters the game leading the Centennial Conference in total offense at 597.0 yards per game after a school record 673 yards last week in a 55-27 win over McDaniel College, and the Blue and Grey also set a school record with 34 first downs. The Greyhounds have also scored 105 points through two games.

Moravian had three players hit milestones during the game as senior running back Chris Negron became the school record holder in career rushing touchdowns with 34, career touchdowns with 38 and career points with 228, senior wide receiver Jalen Snyder-Scipio became the school record holder with 143 career receptions and senior quarterback Mike Hayes set the school record with a 90.9 completion percentage (20-for-22). Sophomore Kenny Kane tied the school record with seven extra points in the game.

The defense had four takeaways last week with senior linebacker Edward Delia recovering a fumble and making an interception and senior defensive back Noah Miller and freshman defensive back Alkiohn Dunkins both adding interceptions.
