Greyhounds to Host Dickinson on Saturday in Annual Family Day Game

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College football team returns to Rocco Calvo Field on Saturday, September 24 as the Greyhounds get set to host Dickinson College in Centennial Conference action on Moravian's annual Family Day with kickoff slated for 1:00 p.m.

The Blue and Grey are 2-1 overall and 1-1 in Centennial Conference play after a 29-21 loss at No. 11 Johns Hopkins University last Saturday in the squad's first road game of the season. Moravian did set two school records in the game with senior running back Chris Negron passing the all-time record for all-purpose yardage, now at 4,373 yards, and senior quarterback Mike Hayes throwing a school record 55 pass attempts.

In the Centennial Conference, the Greyhounds are first in total offense at 542.0 yards per game, and the squad is first in rushing offense with an average of 235.3 yards per contest and second in passing offense at 306.7 yards per outing. The Hounds are first in the conference in scoring offense at 42.0 points per game, and Moravian is fifth in points allowed at 30.3. Moravian's defense ranks sixth in the Centennial Conference at 398.7 yards allowed per game, and the squad is first in rushing defense at 81.7 yards per contest.

The Moravian coaching staff will be participating in the Coach to Cure MD project on Saturday. For the ninth year in a row, college football coaches nationwide will join together in support of the Coach to Cure MD program, which will be held during games on September 24. The rapidly growing annual effort has raised more than $1.2 million dollars to battle Duchenne muscular dystrophy. The Moravian football staff and American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) members will wear a Coach to Cure MD logo patch on the sidelines and college football fans will be asked to donate to research projects supported by Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy, the largest nonprofit organization in the U.S. focused entirely on Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Football fans can donate to Duchenne muscular dystrophy research by either going online to www.CoachtoCureMD.org or by texting the word CURE to 90999 (a $5 donation will automatically be added to your next phone bill).
