Delia Selected as Centennial Conference Defensive Athlete of the Week

LANCASTER, Pa. --- Moravian College senior linebacker Edward Delia has been named the Centennial Conference Defensive Athlete of the Week for his performance Saturday in the Greyhounds' 33-32 come-from-behind win at Ursinus College.

Delia registered 17 tackles, tied for fourth highest single game total in school history. He had ten solo stops in the game and added a pass break-up. Delia led the Moravian defense that limited Ursinus to five yards rushing for the second straight season. The Hounds also allowed just nine points in the second half as the Blue and Grey rallied from a 23-11 halftime deficit for the win with 3:54 to play.

"Ed has been playing extremely well this fall after coming into camp in August in the best shape of his career," noted Head Coach Jeff Pukszyn. "Ed is having a lot of fun out on the field, and he has really stepped up his play in his first year as a starter. His enthusiasm and work ethic is rubbing off on our other linebackers and raising their level of play."

Moravian heads into the bye week at 4-1 overall and 3-1 in Centennial Conference action for the second straight season, and the Hounds are 4-1 for the fourth time since joining the Centennial Conference in 2007. The Greyhounds are scheduled to return to action on Saturday, October 15 in a Centennial Conference game versus Susquehanna University. Kickoff is slated for 1:00 p.m. at Rocco Calvo Field for Moravian's annual Homecoming game.
