Six Greyhounds Named to Centennial Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll

LANCASTER, Pa. --- Six members of the Moravian College football team have been named to the 2016 Centennial Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll that includes 111 football players and a total of 544 student-athletes from the conference.

To be named to the Centennial Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must be a sophomore or higher in class standing and have a cumulative GPA of 3.40 or higher.

The Greyhounds had one senior on the Academic Honor Roll – wide receiver Jalen Snyder-Scipio, who made the list for a third straight fall while junior linebacker Stanton Santos and sophomores kicker Jon Miller, defensive lineman Vincent Pianoforte, linebacker Tanner Stokes and defensive back Nick Zambelli also garnered spots on the Academic Honor Roll for the Greyhounds.

"I am very proud of this group for not only what they do on the field for the program but the work they put in off of the field," stated Head Coach Jeff Pukszyn. "They are all outstanding student-athletes and will have great futures outside of the game. Jalen will always be a part of our Greyhound family and will continue to represent the College after graduating. We're excited to have the other guys in the program again next season"

Snyder-Scipio had 27 catches for 321 yards with three touchdowns this fall despite missing four games with an injury. He completed his career as Moravian's all-time leader with 159 receptions, and Snyder-Scipio is fourth in school history with 1,803 receiving yards and third with 16 receiving touchdowns.

Zambelli contributed 57 tackles with three interceptions and five passes defended in his second season as a starter while Miller kicked off 43 times for an average of 52.3 yards with one touchback.  Santos and Pianoforte each had two tackles this fall with Santos adding a half a tackle for loss.

The Greyhounds finished 5-5 overall and were fifth in the Centennial Conference with a 4-5 mark.
