BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Current Moravian College Assistant Football Coach and former wide receiver Jalen Snyder-Scipio '17 will be giving up his whistle at football practice and his nursing shifts for a few days later this month to attend the National Football Foundation & College Football Hall of Fame's first Campbell Trophy Summit at Stanford University from August 24-26.

The summit is a gathering of approximately 100 previous nominees for the William F. Campbell Trophy as well as former Campbell winners, entrepreneurs and CEOs. The event will cover a wide range of topics designed to foster leadership, personal growth and the career development of the 100 attendees, who came from the pool of nominees during the past decade for The William V. Campbell Trophy®. Themes currently slated for discussion include entrepreneurship, finance, venture capital, health care, ethics, sports management, women in leadership, mentorship and the lifelong lessons of the gridiron and how they apply in the business world. Attendees will also tour the campuses of Intuit, Facebook and Google while hearing from top executives at each of the companies.

"Being the first NFF Summit ever, it is obviously very exciting to be a part of," stated Snyder-Scipio. "I've never been west of Pittsburgh, so I am also excited to see what the West Coast lifestyle is like. The list of attendees and guests is filled with successful and reputable individuals so I look forward to being a sponge and learning what I can. I'm a firm believer that the people you surround yourself with have a strong influence on who you are, so I feel like the Summit will be a great place to be."

The organizers have assembled an impressive set of distinguished entrepreneurs, CEOs and friends who benefited from Bill Campbell's guidance, and the speakers currently slated to attend include more than 15 CEOs, multiple partners in major investment firms, three members of the NFF Board (Big 12 Commissioner Bob Bowlsby, Lott Auto Ventures CEO Ronnie Lott, and Pac-12 Commissioner Larry Scott); four William V. Campbell Trophy® recipients (Thomas Burns - 1993 Virginia, Jim Hansen - 1992 Colorado, David Helton - 2014 Duke and Chris Howard - 1990 Air Force) and two members of the College Football Hall of Fame (Ronnie Lott - Southern California and Steve Young - Brigham Young).

In his first year after playing the game since a young boy, Snyder-Scipio reflected on what he will miss. "Gameday was always my favorite. From breakfast, to the bus ride, through the game, and afterwards, the memories that I made with my teammates is what I will miss the most (especially after a win). As for what I would miss the least; Ice baths. I ended up taking many ice baths for treatment and recovery during my career, and I can't remember one that I enjoyed. I think coaching allows me to satisfy my love for the game in a different way. It wont be the same as suiting up, but I'm happy to do my part."

Moravian begins its 2017 season on Thursday, August 31 with a non-conference game at King's College kicking off at 7:00 p.m., one of 11 games featuring NCAA Division III teams on the opening night of the year.
