BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College football team has selected senior defensive lineman Fouad Haddad, senior wide receiver Aaron Hudson and junior defensive back Nick Zambelli as its captains for the 2017 season.

Haddad played in all ten games for the Greyhounds in 2016 with 17 tackles including 11 solo stops to go with a half a tackle for loss. He will be one of the Hounds' starting defensive tackles this fall.

"Fouad has been a tireless worker over the past four years," commented Head Coach Jeff Pukszyn, who is entering his seventh year leading the program. "He has led by example through his career and has done everything we asked of him, playing both offense and defense during his time here. His selfless attitude has been something that has not gone unnoticed by his peers."

Hudson set the school record with 65 receptions a year ago for 781 yards and seven touchdowns while starting all 10 games. Hudson also had 20 rushing yards and 16 kickoff returns for 200 yards in 2016. He enters his senior campaign with 86 receptions for 1,022 yards and eight touchdowns.

"Aaron had a break out year in 2016. He does an outstanding job in the weight room and it has translated onto the field for him," stated Pukszyn. "His attitude and work ethic have put him in a leadership role, not only on offense but across the entire team as well."

Zambelli will be in his third year as a starting safety for Moravian after making 57 tackles with 34 solo stops, three interceptions and a total of five passes defended a season ago. Zambelli has 94 career tackles with four interceptions and 11 passes defended in 21 career games with the Greyhounds.

"Nick has started every game of his collegiate career and his play continues to get better and better," Pukszyn said. "Nick emerged as a leader with the team during the offseason and it certainly continued during preseason camp this year. Being elected captain as a junior shows the respect Nick has gained from his teammates."

Moravian is slated to kickoff the 2017 season on Thursday, August 31 in a non-conference game at King's College at 7:00 p.m.
