Why did you choose Moravian College?
I chose Moravian College because of the student to teacher ratio. I know that attending a bigger college or university can affect what you learn in the classroom negatively, but here you actually have to go to class and be an active participant if you want a solid grade. I also saw it as a great opportunity to excel athletically and get on the field early.

What is your major and why?
My major is Business Management with a minor in Spanish. I chose that major because I would like to own my own business one day and I enjoy talking with and meeting new people. I chose the Spanish minor because I excelled in it in high school and I figured that being bilingual is exciting and will only help me in the job search while also allowing me to expand my horizons.

What has been your favorite course at Moravian and why?
My favorite course at Moravian so far would have to be my history class in my freshman year because while I like talking to and meeting new people, I also like learning about human history and how America got started.

What are your plans for the future once you finish your degree at Moravian?
Right off the bat out of college I plan to get a job with the best pay possible. I will learn from experience the workplace and overtime I expect to eventually become and manager and from there run a company or make my own business.

What is your most memorable moment as a Greyhound?
My most memorable moment as a Greyhound athlete so far would have to be throwing the go ahead touchdown pass versus Juniata College with little time left in the game.

How has being an athlete helped you as a student and in the classroom?
Being an athlete has helped me as a student to get to my classes on time and while in class it has helped me to be an active participant. As a quarterback, I have learned that I have to be a vocal leader on and off the field. In class, I can be a vocal leader through participation and it also allows me to better understand the material.

What is the hardest part of your sport?
The toughest part of my sport for me is the mental preparation, but as a whole, football is the ultimate team sport. You're only as good as your weakest link. You have to be physically tough while also being mentally tough at the same time and if each person does that on each play and pushes through adversity, then there is no telling what you can really achieve.

Why do you wear your jersey number?
I wear my jersey number honestly because it was given to me. I wore number 13 growing up and in high school because my favorite quarterback was Dan Marino, now I wear 12 because 13 was unavailable coming into college. I do not mind it, though. I actually like it better. Now I get to wear the same number as the reigning NFL MVP, Aaron Rodgers and the winning Super Bowl Quarterback, Tom Brady. Not a bad number to have.

Name one obstacle or form of adversity you have had to overcome.
My biggest obstacle I have had to overcome athletically was in my senior year of high school. I strained ligaments my throwing shoulder early on in the season and then later that season I tore 2 out of 3 ligaments attached to my collarbone in my shoulder, including the one holding it down. After the season the doctors recommended I let it naturally heal because the surgery only works 8 out of every 12 times and if it did not work it may cause permanent damage to my shoulder. I agreed with them to let it naturally heal and now there is very little to no pain in my shoulder now after healing. But when I move my arm a certain way, I am forever reminded of that season by the bone sticking out. It's pretty horrifying if you see it.

Why is community service important to your role as a student-athlete at Moravian College?
As a student-athlete, it is always good to give back to the community because whether you like it or not, you are held to a higher standard as non-athletes. If other members of the community see you giving back, maybe become inspired to help others or if you need their help one day, they give it to you. It is always a good thing to pay it forward. It helps keep the peace. My favorite act of community service I am currently participating in is the Be the Match foundation. The foundation searches for people, children as well as adults, who are in need of a bone marrow transplant. If I do match with someone, I will be honored to donate the bone marrow and help save another human being's life.

What advice do you have for a prospective Moravian College student-athlete?
My advice to prospective Moravian college athletes is to really manage your time well. You get a lot of free time in college. You have to find a level playing field and balance out all of your academic, athletic, and social commitments. Also, mental health is key. You should make the best of what you have because in the end, you have to be happy with what you're doing and happy with where your life is headed.
