Why did you choose Moravian College?
I chose Moravian because of the prestigious nursing program and the proximity to home.
What is your major and why?
I chose nursing because I enjoy caring for people. I feel that a big part of being a good person is being kind and caring to people. I simply enjoy helping others, especially when they are not their strongest.
What has been your favorite course at Moravian and why?
I enjoyed world geography and global issues because it was a switch from my usual nursing and biology courses and was taught very well. It had a lot of interesting information that kept my attention and I enjoy broadening my horizons past simply my nursing major.
What are your plans for the future once you finish your degree at Moravian?
I haven't decided what to do directly out of school. However, I will be going back to school to attain my MSN hopefully within 3 years of graduation. I've also considered trying out coaching. I like to have options and I will make the decision to work as a nurse, coach, or go to school (or a combination) once i graduate.
What is your most memorable moment as a Greyhound?
My favorite time as a Greyhound is probably the Special Olympic Event that the SAAC committee sets up. The energy and happiness in the ARC every year on that day is amazing, and every smile leaves a small imprint on you. It helps to put things in perspective.
How has being an athlete helped you as a student and in the classroom?
The work ethic that I've developed as an athlete has translated into the same work ethic in the classroom and vice versa. Its taught me time management and perseverance.
What is the hardest part of your sport?
The hardest part is summer camp in August. I think it proves to be very tasking and tiring, but the relationships you build with your team during that time is second to none.
Why do you wear your jersey number?
I was just given a number that was available.
Why is community service important to your role as a student-athlete at Moravian College?
Community service is very important to me because I believe that helping people is beneficial to everyone. Especially in a community like Bethlehem that supports Moravian so well, it feels good to give back.
What advice do you have for a prospective Moravian College student-athlete?
My advice would be Don't go to Muhlenburg.
