Field Hockey Falls to Scranton

SCRANTON, Pa. --- The Moravian College field hockey team dropped a 6-0 decision to The University of Scranton in a Landmark Conference match on the road Saturday afternoon.

The Royals jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead in the fourth minute, and Scranton extended the lead to 2-0 in the 51st minute. Scranton also scored in the 56th, 59th and 70th and tallied the final goal on a penalty corner after time had expired.

The Greyhounds made a late flurry in the second half with senior midfielder Catherine Duffin putting a shot on goal in the 64th minute and sophomore forward Kyla Rodrigues putting a shot on the pads a minute later. Duffin was just wide of the goal in the 66th minute for the Hounds.

Sophomore goalie Megan Kanyuk had four saves in the match for Moravian.

The Greyhounds will be right back in action on Sunday, October 26 in a make-up Landmark Conference match at Elizabethtown College beginning at 2:00 p.m.
